Gov Bala Mohammed Pledges Support for Media Industry at BON Meeting in Bauchi

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has indicated a strong commitment to strengthening the media industry in view of the crucial role of broadcasting in national development.

Speaking at the 80th Broadcasting Organizations of Nigeria BON Meeting held in Bauchi, the governor highlighted various initiatives his administration has undertaken to enhance the performance of state-owned media organizations, particularly the Bauchi Radio Corporation BRC and the Bauchi Television Authority BATV.

Bala Mohammed commended BON for choosing Bauchi as the host city for this gathering, noting that the state remains a strong advocate for press freedom, media development, and responsible journalism.

In his submission, the guest speaker professor Umar Pate who highlighted some of the challenges facing the broadcasting industry charged relevant stakeholders to device effective means of addressing them.

Earlier, the National Chairman of BON, Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos, represented by Vice President Zone B, Alhaji Isa Yusuf, reiterated the media’s vital role in shaping public opinion and disseminating information.

Goodwill Messages were presented by heads of relevant agencies and parastatals including the Director General Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN Muhammad Bulama who was represented by Northeast Zonal Director Barrister Babayo Askira
