Bauchi state Governor Senator Bala Muhammad has extended an invitation for the Bauchi state Maiden Investment Summit scheduled to hold this year to Portugal Investors and Business tycoons.
This invitation was made official when the Governor received the Portuguese Ambassador to Nigeria, Santos Pablo, at the Government House in Bauchi on a Courtesy call.
Governor Muhammad expressed his delight in receiving the ambassador, highlighting the historical significance of the visit and noted that Portugal was the first to establish trade relations with Nigeria, dating back to the 15th century.
While praising the Portuguese for their friendly and mild nature in their occupation and relationship with Nigerians, Governor Muhammad also commended Ambassador Pablo for his courage in visiting Bauchi State, demonstrating a deep sense of security in the state.
The Governor emphasized the importance of technology in driving growth and development, expressing his hope that Portugal would share its knowledge with Nigeria, also highlighted the vast resources available in Bauchi State, including precious metals like lead, tantalite, and limestone.
Earlier, The Portuguese Diplomat to Nigeria Ambassador Santos Pablo opined that The Visit is aimed to explore areas of collaboration with the Bauchi state and the Government and people of Portugal.
Albarka Radio correspondent Mubarak Aliyu kobi reports that During the meeting, Governor Muhammad and Ambassador Pablo discussed potential areas of collaboration, including agriculture, livestock development, and energy.
And that The Bauchi state Maiden Investment Summit, scheduled to hold in May or June, aims to showcase the state’s investment potential and create a platform for dialogue between investors and state officials.
