Bauchi State Commissioner of Natural Resources Development, Maiwada Bello, has urged youths across Nigeria to rally around Governor Bala Mohammed ahead of the 2027 presidential contest.
Bello who made the call during an interview with newsmen on Tuesday, noted that Governor Bala Mohammed has set a national precedent by appointing more youths to key positions in government than any other Governor in Nigeria.
According to him, the bold move by the governor underscores his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and inclusive governance, opining that by positioning Bauchi State as a trailblazer in involving young people in leadership and decision-making, the Governor deserve the collective support of the Nigerian youth to propel him to the country’s highest political office in 2027.
He emphasized that Governor Mohammed’s administration has surpassed both his predecessors in the State and other Governors across the country in integrating young people into government.
“The governor is committed to building a government that reflects the energy and innovation of the youth”, he said.
Hon. Bello added that no other administration in the country has given young people as many opportunities to serve in high-level positions as Governor Bala Mohammed.
He added that Mohammed’s youth-focused policy is evident across the State Executive Council, Local Governments, and advisory roles, with youths occupying critical positions and driving key policy implementations.
Maiwada Bello noted that these appointments and support are part of the Governor’s broader vision to create a government that prioritizes fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.
The Commissioner further described Governor Mohammed’s administration as a testament to his belief that young people are not just the future but are essential to shaping the present, and has created a platform for them to actively contribute to the development of the State.
The Commissioner who emphasized that Mohammed’s track record demonstrates a clear commitment to empowering young people, explained that for years, youths have clamored for leaders who prioritise their interests and create opportunities for them to thrive.
Hon Bello while stating that Governor Bala has proven himself as such a leader who calls for the youth to rally behind him and ensure he takes this vision to the national level, boasted that with Mohammed as president, Nigeria will witness a government that fully harnesses the potential of its youth population, fostering innovation, inclusion, and development across the country.
He said indicators are glaring that the Governor’s youth-focused leadership has positioned him as a credible contender for the presidency, with his administration serving as a model of how inclusive governance can drive progress.
“Youths across Bauchi State and beyond are being encouraged to mobilize in support of his vision for a better Nigeria”, the Commissioner stated.
He added that Governor Mohammed’s rise to the presidency will guarantee the continuation of policies that prioritize young people and ensure their active participation in shaping the future of the nation.
